Saint Patrick’s Day thoughts
At the age of 16 a British Patrick was captured by Irish raiders and kept as a slave for many years. After escaping and entering the church he returned to Ireland to Christianise the Irish. It must have taken great inner strength to return to the land of his enslavement. Today, the 17th of March is a celebration of the Saint, Christianity and of Ireland. For those of us who love the Irish setters originally bred on the green isle let us celebrate this day with good thoughts and memories of the Irish, our Irish canine friends and the love the saint had for all things Irish.
